For Catana tenants

How to pay your rent

Rent is due on the 1st of every month. The easiest way is an Interac e-Transfer. Some banks also let you set it to repeat every month on its own.

The quick version

Everything you need to send rent by Interac e-Transfer.

Send torent@catanateam.ca
Your bank shows it asCATANA PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COR
MessageYour unit + address + month, e.g. “303-740 Kipps Ln – Nov rent”
DueThe 1st of every month

It deposits automatically, so there’s no security question or password to set. Pay the amount on your lease or your latest rent increase notice. If someone else sends the e-Transfer for you, or you change the email you pay from, tell us so we can match it to your unit.

Moving over from SIREG? If SIREG was taking rent from your account automatically, or you have a scheduled payment to SIREG, cancel it so you don’t pay twice. If you pay through TenantPay, the account number saved in your TenantPay payee belongs to SIREG. Ask us for your new one before you pay.

Step by step for your bank

Open your bank below. Each one covers sending an e-Transfer and whether your bank can repeat it monthly. Repeating payments are optional; you can always send rent yourself each month.

App or online: Interac e-Transfer → Contact List → add a name and rent@catanateam.ca. Then Send Money → choose the contact, amount and account → Continue → confirm.

Make it repeat every month

Yes. Choose a frequency when you send. Recurring transfers need the recipient to use Autodeposit, which rent@catanateam.ca does. Simplii’s page lists weekly, biweekly, every 3 or 6 months and yearly; check whether Monthly appears in your app. You can cancel until 6:00 a.m. ET on the send day.

Limits

$3,000 in any 24 hours, $10,000 in 7 days and $30,000 in 30 days. If your rent is over $3,000, send it in two parts on two days before the 1st, or use TenantPay.

Another bank or credit union

Look for Interac e-Transfer under Send money, Transfers or Pay & Transfer. Add rent@catanateam.ca as a new contact, then send. Because we use Autodeposit, there’s no security question, and your bank shows the name CATANA PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COR before you confirm. Ask your bank whether it offers recurring e-Transfers.

Bank menus change from time to time. If a step looks different in your app, call us at (226) 507-2118 and we’ll walk you through it. Steps checked against each bank’s own help pages on October 24, 2026.

Paying through TenantPay

Prefer to pay as a bill in your online banking? TenantPay works with most Canadian banks and credit unions. Paying by online-banking bill payment costs you nothing; Catana covers the fee.

  1. Ask us for your account number. Email management@catanateam.ca or text (226) 507-2118. It starts with RNT and belongs to your unit only.
  2. Add TenantPay as a payee in your online banking: search for “TenantPay” under Add payee (it’s under Pay bills or Bill payments at most banks).
  3. Enter your RNT number as the account number.
  4. Pay it like any bill, at least 3 business days before the 1st, because bill payments take a few days to reach us. Most banks, including RBC, TD and BMO, also let you set a bill payment to repeat monthly.
  5. Coming from SIREG? If TenantPay is already in your payees, edit it and replace the old account number with your new Catana one. The old number pays SIREG.

TenantPay also has its own app, where card or pre-authorized payments may carry a fee that TenantPay charges you. Online-banking bill payment is free for you.

Questions

Do I have to set up automatic payments?

No. It’s your choice. A repeating e-Transfer or bill payment is just a convenience so you don’t forget. You can always send rent yourself each month.

Can I cancel an e-Transfer after I send it?

Not usually. Because rent@catanateam.ca uses Autodeposit, the money lands in our account right away and can’t be recalled. Before you confirm, check the name (CATANA PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COR) and the amount.

My rent is more than my bank’s daily e-Transfer limit.

Some banks cap e-Transfers at $3,000 a day. Send it in two parts on different days before the 1st, or pay through TenantPay, which doesn’t use e-Transfer limits. Tell us if you split it so we can match both parts.

What if the 1st is on a weekend or holiday?

Rent is still due on the 1st. An e-Transfer arrives within minutes any day of the week. A bill payment can take a few business days, so send it earlier.

Someone else pays my rent, or I changed my email.

That’s fine. Just tell us who it comes from, so we can match the payment to your unit.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes, any time, at no cost. Email management@catanateam.ca.

I can’t pay in full this month.

Tell us before the 1st. We’d much rather agree on a plan early.

I used to pay SIREG automatically. What do I do?

Cancel that automatic payment or withdrawal with your bank before the 1st, so you don’t pay twice. Keep your receipts for rent you paid SIREG.
